‘Fast And Furious 9’ Release Pushed Back A Year Over Coronavirus

Not even Dominic Toretto and company are safe from the coronavirus scare – the release date of Fast and Furious 9 has been pushed back an entire year due to the COVID-19 outbreak. A statement posted to the film’s official Twitter account announced that F9’s release date was being pushed from May 22nd to April 2nd, 2021 after it was “clear that it won’t be possible for all of our fans around the world to see the film this May”.

The note says the decision was made “with the safety of everyone as our foremost consideration”.  Other films, including A Quiet Place 2 and the James Bond movie No Time To Die, have been pushed to later this year. Was it necessary for F9 to delay all the way until next April?
