Logic makes history as the first rapper with a No. 1 best-selling novel
Logic is showcasing how his creativity knows no bounds and making history along the way.
At the end of last month, on March 26, the Maryland rapper released his debut novel, “Supermarket,” which has officially debuted at the top of the New York Times’ Paperback Fiction Best-Seller list. The impressive accolade also makes him the first hip-hop artist to ever author a best-selling fiction book.
In addition to the releasing the highly anticipated fiction title, Logic also dropped an an accompanying soundtrack of the same name to further celebrate and showcase his versatile talents.
According to Logic, the first half of the novel was written while he was at “lowest most depressed, anxiety-filled part of my life,” while the second half was written as I overcame it.”
The book has been described as a “fresh, funny and deliciously dark thriller,” and its plot follows a character named Flynn who begins working at a supermarket as a way to secure an ordinary job and a steady paycheck. One day, he arrives to work to discover it was made a crime scene, with the psychological saga taking off from there.
“A darkly funny psychological thriller, ‘Supermarket’ is a gripping exploration into madness and creativity. Who knew you could find sex, drugs, and murder all in aisle nine?” reads the Amazon description.
In related news, the 29-year-old rapper recently announced he will be dropping a new album this year, titled Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. The project will mark his first release, save for the soundtrack, since releasing the fourth installment of his Young Sinatra mixtape series, YSIV, in September 2018. At this time, a release date for the upcoming studio album has not yet been revealed.
