The Weeknd and Kendrick Lamar Collaborate Together On Brooding ‘Black Panther’ Soundtrack Song “Pray For Me”

The Weeknd and Kendrick Lamar look for prayers on new collaboration.

Starboy and Lamar team up again for another ferocious new track. It’s titled “Pray For Me,” a followup to their 2016 collab “Sidewalks.” The song lands on the upcoming Black Panther: The Album soundtrack, executive produced by K-Dot.

“Who gon’ pray for me? Take my pain for me? Save my soul for me?.” Abel croons over an icy beat crafted by Matt Schaeffer, Cardo, Cubeatz, and Sounwave. “‘Cause I’m alone you see.”

Kendrick clocks in with a triumphant verse: “I fight pain and hurricanes / Today I wept,” Kendrick raps over the nightmarish beat and The Weeknd’s rapid fire lalala’s. “I’m tryna fight back tears / Flood on my doorsteps.”

One of the best releases of the week.
